Ravens Dominate Washington Demons 4-0 in Home Victory

The Ravens soared to a 4-0 win against the Washington Demons, Tuesday evening at home. From the opening whistle, the Ravens put immediate pressure on Washington as the Ravens tried to take control of the game. Three minutes into the match, Jesse Blossom sent a ball into the box where Rowan Miller stuck the ball to the far corner of the goal for the 1-0 lead. Miller added a second goal with 16 minutes left in the half when Kale Bailey put a hard shot at the goal. The goalie knocked the ball away but into the path of Miller who neatly passed the ball into the net for the 2-0 lead. The Ravens tallied the third goal with five minutes left on the clock. Mason Helmuth gathered in a ball, beat a defender into the penalty box area, then sent a perfect cross on the ground to Mason Bender who turned the ball into the goal for the 3-0 halftime lead.

Hillcrest finished the scoring five minutes into the second half when Rowan Miller touched the ball to Mason Helmuth who powered the ball past the goalie. In addition to those who scored, midfielders Isaac Birky, Isaac Beachy, Kale Bailey, Seth Ours, Angel Sambrano, and Danny Myers played well. The back line of Bryce Bailey, Lincoln Miller, along with Kyle Neuschwander, Garrett Bontrager, Becket Slaubaugh and Charlie Hughes, kept the Washington Demons to limited scoring chances. Kyle Neuschwander and Andrew Kaufman combined in goal to keep the “clean sheet.”  

Hillcrest moves to 1-1 overall, 0-1 in conference play. The Ravens return to action Thursday evening when they host WACO at 6:00 pm following the middle school game.
