Scott Kicks Off Hillcrest Academy Track Season with Strong Performance at Dickinson Relays

Junior Owen Scott gave the Hillcrest Academy track and field season a jump start by competing at the Dickinson Relays at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls on Monday.  Scott competed in the high and long jumps at the highly competitive meet.  Scott first competed in the high jump clearing the bar at five feet eight inches to place twenty-third out of seventy-six jumpers.  Owen placed fifteenth in the long jump with a best jump of twenty feet eight inches.  There were one hundred fifty-two jumpers in the competition.  The Iowa Track Coaches Association state indoor meets are next up on the Ravens track and field schedule.  Owen will compete in the boys meet on Thursday, March 13.  The girls meet is Friday, March 14.  Athletes are required to have qualifying marks to compete at the state indoor meets.
