Ravens silence Wildcats of Columbus behind Malia Yoder’s multi-hit performance!
Malia Yoder collected three hits in four at bats, as Hillcrest Academy Varsity Ravens defeated Columbus 10-7 on Tuesday at Hillcrest Academy. Yoder singled in the first inning, singled in the fourth inning, and singled in the sixth inning.
Columbus got on the board in the top of the first inning after Lily Coil singled, and Kennedy Woepking doubled, each scoring one run.
In the bottom of the first inning, Hillcrest Academy Varsity Ravens went back into the lead after Columbus committed an error, Columbus committed an error, Columbus committed an error, Stavia Miller singled, and Kylee Statler grounded out, each scoring one run.
Coil doubled, which helped Columbus tie the game at five in the top of the fourth.

Yoder earned the win for Hillcrest Academy Varsity Ravens. The starting pitcher surrendered eight hits and seven runs (three earned) over seven innings, striking out 12 and walking one. Woepking took the loss for Columbus. The starting pitcher went four innings, allowing eight runs (three earned) on nine hits, striking out two and walking one.
Hillcrest Academy Varsity Ravens amassed 11 hits in the game. Beachy provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Hillcrest Academy Varsity Ravens with three runs batted in. The third baseman went 2-for-4 on the day. Withrow and Miller each collected multiple hits for Hillcrest Academy Varsity Ravens. Withrow stole two bases. Hillcrest Academy Varsity Ravens stole six bases in the game.
