RAVEN BOYS GO LOW: ROLL AT CENTRAL LEE SATURDAY

Senior Luke Schrock

While most people were still sleeping Saturday morning at 5:30 a.m., the Hillcrest Raven Golf Team was already on the road to Donnelson, Iowa to play in the annual Central Lee 18 hole Invitational. The best they have ever placed was 4th last year in a field of 8 teams.

The Ravens were on from the get go. Halfway through the meet, the team had already carded a 160 on the front nine. There was steady excellent play from everyone today as everyone was playing near the top of their game. There were saves from the penalty areas, scrambles and plenty of birdies to go around but mainly just consistent solid golf. The second nine would be even better as the Ravens finished the back half with team 156 for a total of 316 on the day, a season high 18 hole round. That score bested their 322 Conference championship win earlier this week.

The Ravens were led by medalist Rowan Miller and runner up medalist Jace Rempel with scores of 75 and 76 respectively. That is just 3 and 4 over par for the day! Luke and Liam Schrock finished with scores of 81 and 84 while Josiah Beachy continued his hot streak improvement scoring a (44,42). Ethan Yoder continued his improvement with an 18 hole best of 137.
