Jesse Blossom Wins The Stock Market Game

Jesse Blossom Wins The Stock Market Game

Congratulations to sophomore, Jesse Blossom for finishing first in the Iowa region of the The Stock Market Game sponsored by the SIFMA Foundation. In the ‘game’ each team or person in the class starts the session with an imaginary $100,000 to invest in stocks, bonds, mutual funds, currency and precious metals. Students learn the basics of investing, researched, and then bought and sold according to their best judgment. Jesse participated as a member of the fall semester Economics class which finished in second place among schools who had five or more participants. As the winner, Jesse earned a 19.18% return on his investments.

This is the second year in a row that a student from Hillcrest Academy has won. Last year Noah Miller ’22 finished in first place.

Here is Jesse with Economics teacher, Marcus Miller. Marcus now has two flags hanging in his classroom representing his back-to-back winning students.
