Each school scored a win in Riverside Tuesday when the Highland Huskies hosted the Hillcrest Academy Ravens for a Southeast Iowa Superconference hoops doubleheader. In the girls contest, Highland came away with a 51-24 win. A fast start for the Huskies proved to be too much for the Ravens to overcome with Highland holding a 22-7 lead after first quarter and using a 12-3 run in the second to go on top 34-10 at the break. Offense slowed down for both sides after half, with the Huskies winning the third frame 9-3 to extend the lead to 30. Highland owned the stat column, grabbing 39 rebounds, 22 steals and dishing out 19 assists. Sarah Burton continued her blistering start to the year with another double double 20 points and 11 boards with four steals and two blocks. Jessica Kraus had 12 points and Katelyn Waters finished with 11 assists. The Huskies improve to 2-1 as the Ravens remain winless.
