Middle School Announcement

For years, there has been discussion at Hillcrest Academy around grade expansion beyond high school. You may remember this topic was communicated two years ago in the form of a community-wide survey. This was helpful in gathering important information, but it was decided to not pursue any further action. Two weeks ago, unified in their decision, our Operating Board was in strong agreement to proceed with planning for a middle school, enrolling 6th grade students for the 2023-24 school year. Below is the official statement that was communicated to our faculty/staff, current families, and to the local churches. 

The Hillcrest Academy Operating Board has approved the opening of a middle school and with great joy will offer a 6th grade class in the fall of 2023! This historic decision came after a process of exploration beginning in December 2020. Since then, the community expressed great interest and support of this option and the Board’s approval of this program is in response to this need. We ask for your continued prayers for guidance as we launch the planning phase of this project in preparation for welcoming the first 6th grade class next fall. 

This is a big step in the history of our school, as you can see in the infographic below. More than 75 years after our founding, we are still building towards a bright future for our school. We feel good about the process so far and are thankful for your prayers as we ask God to lead us forward.
