The Ravens made the short trip to Wellman for the first round playoff game against Mid-Prairie and though making a valiant effort, came up on the short end of the 1-0 score. In the opening half, the Ravens came out showing they intended to try to win the match, putting pressure on the goal and earning an early corner kick. Behind the stout defense led by Grant Bender the group limited Mid-Prairies chances. Along with Grant, Mason Bender, Bryce Bailey, Seth Ours and Andrew Starr all put in excellent defensive shifts and with goalie Aiden Krabill’s efforts, the score at halftime was 0-0.

The Ravens took the field in the second half without leading scorer, Diego Ramos, after a severe muscle strain, but still managed to create some offensive chances on the efforts of Jorge Canchola, Micah Gerber, Collin Miller, and Jesse Blossom. The defense continued to play well, but near the halfway point of the half, Mid-Prairie was able to get one by Krabill for the 1-0 lead. Taking their chances, Hillcrest moved Grant Bender forward, which created a bit more offense, but led to Mid-Prairie getting more shots. Krabill made several spectacular diving saves, recording 12 saves on the night.

Hillcrest finishes its season at 6-9 overall and 5-4 in the conference.
