Jace Rempel Qualifies For State Golf Tournament

Junior, Jace Rempel qualified for the Iowa High School State 1A golf tournament next week in Ames, Iowa. Jace fired an 84 at Pleasant Valley Golf course in Iowa City at the District tournament on May 16. A late birdie at the end of the round solidified him the runner up medalist earning him a berth in the State tournament. He is the first individual golfer since 1993 to qualify for the State tournament.

Jace played solid golf and ran a nice string of pars during the course of play. The Ravens as a team fell short of qualifying for State by only 9 strokes. Their 381 was good enough for 4th place just narrowly missing a tie for second at 373. Luke Schrock shot a 91, Liam Schrock a 93, and Josiah Beachy followed with a 113. Alex Niemeyer finished his senior career with a score of 121. Everyone either tied their last year 18 hole score or bettered it. Which included Jace’s career low score of 84. There were a lot of great shots, birdie opportunities and some great scrambles.

Next week, Jace will tee off at 10:30 AM on May 23 and 9:00 AM on May 24. The two-day tournament takes place at Ames Country Club.
