Ravens Golf Team Earns a Medal at the SE Super Conference Meet

Senior London Schrock
Hillcrest Academy carded their 2nd and 3rd best 9 hole rounds of the year, a 202 and a 201, for a 403 18 hole round total at the Conference Championships. They were held at Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course in Ft Madison. The 403 was good enough to place 6th out of 14 teams, earning the Ravens a medal.

London Schrock earned 2nd Team All Conference honors and Jace Rempel received Honorable Mention. London and Jace both shot a 98. They both had 5 pars each. While Luke Schrock carded no pars, he remained steady, scoring a 100. His score did not reflect how well he played. Alex Niemeyer continued to play more consistent golf with a pair of 61’s and made at least 3 putts today over 12 ft. Josiah Beachy, who has been struggling as of late, busted out of the slump, scoring his best two 9 hole rounds of the year, a 55 and a 56. He also carded his first two pars of the season as well.

Coach Phil Schintler commented, “Every meet  someone has stepped up when others have struggled. This week it was Josiah. We all came out of the gates slow today and struggled with some poor shots early on. The guys were able to put those bad shots behind them and grind. This was our first meet that was 18 holes. London told the guys earlier this week that a couple of bad holes will not hurt us and not to look back. That is what the guys did and that is what shapes them as a good team!”
