Sharing stories in chapel

Friday, January 3: We started off our second semester chapels with a visit from two representatives from Off The Wall Discipleship out of New Philadelphia, Ohio. Don Stubbs and Eric Schrock both shared with us about the ministry and also how God calls us to be a part of the Kingdom of God.

Monday, January 6: We used the story of Paul’s conversion in Acts 9 to start our week. Paul (then called Saul) was confronted by Jesus on the road to Damascus. Paul then evaluated his life and set a new direction that was transformed by his encounter with Christ. We then took some time to evaluate our lives and set new goals for ourselves for the year.

Tuesday: We had our chapel time in small groups.

Wednesday: Sierra led us in learning how to tell our stories of faith using the web site of cru.org. Learning to tell our stories helps us to articulate our faith in ways that are clear and concise and hopefully lead to more conversation at that. We then had some time to write down some thoughts based on that tool.

Thursday: There was time given for persons to share their story with the whole group. After a few people shared, we got into groups of 3-4 to give opportunities to share in that setting.

Friday: We wrapped up our week with Shantell Krabill sharing her story of faith. Shantell is the mother of two current Hillcrest students. The grace of God was very real to her as she struggled with addiction.
